Landscape restoration activities anticipated to be completed earlier this month were delayed due to weather. Late last week, the contractor was able to begin preparing areas and installing topsoil throughout the project limits. Topsoil installation is anticipated to be completed by the middle of this week, before Thanksgiving. Installation of sod is anticipated to be completed next week.

The remainder of the pavement patching on Carr Street, Birch Lane, Weber Drive, and within the East Park Apartment Complex Parking Lot was completed last week. This week the contractor completed concrete curb, sidewalk and driveway replacements along the streets impacted by construction this year. Construction equipment and materials are being removed from the site in preparation for the winter shutdown period. Weather pending, installation of topsoil and sod is expected to begin next Tuesday, November 12th and be completed by the end of next week.
Remaining water main and service installations in the Phase 2 area along Linden Lane (Oak Lane to Birch Lane), Willow Lane (Linden Lane to Carr Street), and Birch Lane (Linden Lane to Carr Street) will resume next spring and be completed by the end of June 2020. Pavement patching was completed last week along Linden Lane and most of Weber Drive. The contractor anticipates completing water service installations along Carr Street and connecting proposed water mains to the existing water mains at the intersections of Willow Lane and Carr Street and Birch Lane and Carr Street by the end of this week. Pavement patching on Cedar Street and concrete work at various locations throughout the project limits will also occur this week. Residents affected by these activities will receive a notice the day prior to work occurring.
Next week, the contractor anticipates connecting the proposed water main to the existing water main within the East Park Apartments northeast parking lot. City and ERA staff are working closely with the East Park Apartments management staff to provide notice to residents affected by this shutdown. By next week, the water main work for this year will be substantially completed in the Phase I area. Pavement and parkway restoration activities will continue in advance of the November 22, 2019 completion date. Additional updates will be provided into November as the work progresses. Later this week and through the middle of next week, the contractor will install remaining water services on the east half of Cedar Street between 2303/2306 Cedar Street and Weber Drive. Next week, the contractor also anticipates disconnecting the old water main from the existing water main at the intersection of Weber Drive and Central Road. Proposed water mains may be connected to the existing water mains at various locations towards the end of next week as well. Residents affected by these shutdowns will receive a notice the day prior to this work occurring. Water service installations were completed on the west half of Cedar Street earlier this week between Linden Lane and 2303/2306 Cedar Street. Water main installation also started on Carr Street, Birch Lane (between Carr Street and Weber Drive) and Weber Drive (south of Birch Lane) and is anticipated to be started within the East Park Apartments northeast parking lot off Weber Drive. Next week, the contractor anticipates beginning water service installations on Weber Drive (between Central Road and Oak Lane) and along the east half of Cedar Street.
Water service installations on Weber Drive are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, October 1st. During this time, the southbound lane of Weber Drive will be closed to thru traffic; however, the northbound lane of Weber Drive will remain open. Proposed water mains may be connected to the existing water mains at various locations towards the end of next week as well. Residents affected by these shutdowns will receive a notice the day prior to this work occurring. By the end of today (September 17th, 2019), detour signage will be removed and Weber Drive will be reopened to traffic. A layer of gravel has been temporarily installed over trench areas to provide access, so please drive cautiously. Water services and remaining water main to be installed along Weber Drive will be completed at a later date.
Water main installation continued this week on Weber Drive and Oak Lane. This work is anticipated to be completed early next week at which point the detour will be temporarily lifted and Weber Drive will be reopened to traffic. Additional updates will be provided to inform residents, schools and PACE when the detour is lifted and prior to any re-implementation of the detour. Next week, the contractor anticipates continuing with water main and service connections on Linden Lane. The proposed water main on Linden Lane will be connected to the existing water main on Maple Lane which will require a shutdown. Existing water services will be shut off during the day when your water service is disconnected from the old water main and connected to the new water main. Residents affected by these shutdowns will receive a notice the day prior to this work occurring.
Water main installation was completed earlier this week on Linden Lane and Cedar Street and started on Weber Drive. A detour began on September 5th for the closure of Weber Drive between Central Road and Oak Lane and will remain in place for up to two weeks to complete water main installation on this section of Weber Drive. School Districts 15 and 214 and PACE are aware of the detour and have modified bus routes accordingly to avoid the construction area. Next week, the contractor will continue with water main installation on Weber Drive and Oak Lane.
Water main and fire hydrant installation occurred earlier this week on Linden Lane between Central Road and Cedar Street. The proposed water main was also connected to the existing main on the north side of Central Road at Linden Lane. The detour for Weber Drive will be starting the week of September 3rd to complete water main installation between Central Road and Oak Lane. The proposed water main on Weber Drive will be connected to the existing water main on Central Road which will require shutdown.
